knitting in circles

I love knitting in the round, but I hate, HATE getting it started.  No matter how many times I check that my yarn isn't twisted after joining..four or five rounds latter when the work starts to flatten itself out, I find that darn twist and I have to rip it all out.  I get so mad that I have to wait a day or so to pick it up and start all over again.  The other night I decided that no matter what, I wasn't going to let that dreaded twist happen, so this is what happened instead:
ensuring there is no twist!

I secured my 268 cast on stitches to the table all pointing in the same direction with painters tape (that way it removes easily from the yarn)

I ever so carefully joined it in the round
success!
new rule: always use painters tape before joining in the round!
